Pathways to Registration

(i) National Fitness Industry Training Package - Certificate qualifications

• To be registered as a Fitness Instructor, an applicant must complete the minimum level of Certificate III in Fitness, including at least one specialization
• To be registered as a Fitness Trainer, an applicant must complete the minimum level qualification plus Certificate IV in Fitness, including the relevant specialization.

(ii) Higher Education System qualifications:

• Bachelor Applied Science (Human Movement) (or equivalent)
  
  Applicants who have degree qualifications in Exercise Science, Human Movement or equivalent, are eligible to apply for registration as a Fitness Instructor and/or Fitness Trainer. The applicant must provide an offical academic transcript and have fulfilled the relevant subject requirements as per the mapping provided by the university.

(iii) Equivalent Qualifications attained overseas

Other requirements

A current Level 2 First Aid Certificate or equivalent  (CPR Component must be updated annually)

A First Aid Certificate is not required if a registrant holds workplace qualifications i.e. Police Officers; Nurses; etc (current proof is required)
